Activity (1) Read the reading passage and underline the modal verbs.

Task 2  Group Work In Class (15 minutes)

Activity (1) Read the sentences in Ex 2 on page 5 and discuss the usage of each modal verb.

Activity (2) Report and check.

Task 3  Individual Work In Class (10 minutes)

Activity (1) Complete the dialogues according to the situations.

① Billy has come to see you in your flat. You offer him something to drink.

You: __________________________. Billy: No, thank you. I’m not thirsty.

② You need help to change the film in your camera. You ask Kate.

You: Kate, I don’t know how to change the film. _____________________.

Kate: Sure. It’s easy. All you have to do is this.

③ You’re on a bus. You have a seat but an elderly woman is standing. You offer her your seat.
